Don't try to create your own PowerPoint unless you really know what you are doing and can spare the time. Don't just order some equipment from the first A/V hire company in Yellow Pages. Don't, don't, don't - I could go on... but let's be positive:

Do use professional people to help you plan, prepare, perform and present - perfectly.
